Bookmarks - July 2023

Gallery Oldham - July 2023
Year 3 had a brilliant day at the Gallery Oldham where we met our friends from Mayfield Primary School. We started the day by sketching portraits of each other, then we explored one of the galleries. After lunch we collaborated to make two fantastic banners.
School Allotment - June 2023
Year 3 enjoyed a very hot visit to the school allotment! As part of our topic about plants we were looking for different trees, flowers, plants and herbs.
Virtual Reality: Mountains - May 2023
We had great fun with the virtual reality headsets. We used them to support our topic all about mountains.
Victorian Day - May 2023
Year 3 had a fantastic trip to the George Street Chapel in Oldham for a “Victorian Day.” The children dressed up, visited a Victorian house and school and took part in washing clothes. After lunch they completed a range of activities, including making peg dolls and being a “historical detective” to work out the use of various objects.
Easter Cards - April 2023
Our Easter cards look so lovely in the sunshine!
Muscles - March 2023
Year 3 have been investigating how our muscles work! We watched a fascinating video that showed different muscles flexing then we did different exercises working in pairs to feel and see the muscles.
World Book Day - March 2023
Year 3 enjoyed celebrating World Book Day, dressing up as book characters or words..
River Medlock Walk - February 2023
As part of our Geography topic Year 3 enjoyed a walk to the River Medlock. The children spotted geographical features and enjoyed a game of pooh sticks on the bridge!
Commando Joe - February 2023
Year 3 really enjoyed their Commando Joe session. They persevered, worked together as teams and showed a great deal of resilience.
Bird Feeders - January 2023
As part of our Recycling topic we reused plastic bottles to design and make bird feeders.

We have loved learning gymnastics in our PE lessons.

French Topic - October 2022
At the end of our French topic Year 3 enjoyed tasting some French food..we had baguette, brie, crepes and croissants!!

French Conversation - October 2022
Year 3 practising their French conversation as part of our Ca Va? topic. We learnt how to say our names, age and the months of the year.
Dance - October 2022
Experience Harvest - September 2022
We had a wonderful time in church at the 'Experience Harvest' event. We learnt all about how God provides food from the sea and the earth. We planted some seeds, looked at how bread is made and listened to some bible stories.
